The Hirschvogel German and Business Internship is awarded each year to a student with a background in German and Business. Interns work with Hirschvogel Automotive Group, Germany's second largest producer of automobile parts, located in Bavaria. Duties vary depending on the specific expertise of the intern and the needs of Hirschvogel, but may include International management projects, communications, and international public relations. The majority of applicants are International Business majors, but this is not a requirement. Some formal background in business is expected, and candidates need strong German skills to be successful.
Internships last ten or more weeks. Business students may count this in fulfillment of their internship requirement by following all the regular steps required for internship approval in the College of Business. Non-business majors should discuss the possibility of academic credit with Dr. Kevin Kennedy.
Hirschvogel Automotive Group provides a free company apartment and car and a basic maintenance stipend of 600 Euros each month. Interns are responsible for air fare and other incidentals.
